Biography

Karron Graves was born in Janesville, Wisconsin, but spent her childhood in Sarasota, Florida, and New York City. As a competitive swimmer, she was a two-time Junior Olympics competitor in Florida. She attended the Professional Children's School and LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts in New York City.

Karron holds an AB degree from Princeton University and an MFA from the Yale School of Drama. She began her career in musical theatre and performed with The Metropolitan Opera for six seasons. Her television debut was on Saturday Night Live in 1986, followed by appearances on PBS, CBS, and NBC.

On stage, Karron originated the role of Clara in Arthur Miller's "Danger: Memory!" at Lincoln Center Theater, toured internationally with "The Sound of Music," and played Ginya in Leslie Ayvazian's "Nine Armenians" at Manhattan Theatre Club.

Karron received her MFA from Yale School of Drama in 2003, where she originated several roles in new plays. Her stage credits include Broadway, Off-Broadway, and regional theatre productions. She received paid training with the SITI Company and starred in their world premiere of "Intimacies for Saxophone" at Arena Stage.

Karron is known for her role as Mary Warren in the film adaptation of "The Crucible" (1996),starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Joan Allen, Paul Scofield, and Winona Ryder. Her other film and television appearances include "Law & Order," "Guiding Light," "Monk," "The Good Shepherd," "5 Wishes," "Late Phases," and "She Dreams of Fireflies."

Karron teaches acting at NYU and the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, and has two children with her partner, Rolando Briceno. She is a life-long advocate for the special needs community, having a sibling and child born with Down syndrome.
