Jayne's early life was marked by her upbringing in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she resided with her mother, father, one older brother, and one younger sister. As a young girl, she was deeply involved in various sports, including gymnastics, dance, diving, and track and field, showcasing her athleticism and versatility. Following her competitive days, she transitioned to coaching and judging gymnastic meets, allowing her to remain involved in the sport she loved.
After completing her high school education, Jayne pursued a degree in Graphic Communications at Dakota County Technical Institute. She worked in this field until 1991, before relocating to San Diego, California in 1986. It was during this time that she discovered a new passion for weight training, which eventually led her to compete in local bodybuilding shows, impressively placing in the top of her division by 1988.
Jayne continued to compete at a national level, while also starting a career as a postal carrier in the San Diego area in 1991. She supplemented her full-time job by working part-time as a personal trainer at local gyms, commencing in 1996. In 1998, she left her government job to become a certified personal trainer at NCSF (National Council of Strength & Fitness),utilizing her skills to train clients, provide nutritional guidance, and make guest appearances at local bodybuilding shows. This transition allowed her to transform her hobby into a successful career.
As she honed her craft, Jayne's exceptional skills caught the attention of others, ultimately leading to her iconic role as Miss Mann in the 2000 comedy film, Scary Movie. The film's success paved the way for additional projects, including performances on Whose Line Is It Anyway and appearances in Lady Gaga's music video for Telephone. Jayne furthered her acting education by studying with instructor Shawn Nelson and at San Diego City College.
