It was at the tender age of fourteen that she embarked on a journey of self-expression, co-writing and co-directing short films with her brother, Matthew Freund. As she entered her teenage years, Kate's curiosity and creativity only grew stronger, leading her to attend Malibu High School, where she honed her skills and refined her artistic vision. Following her high school graduation, Kate went on to further her education at the prestigious University of Southern California (USC),where she earned her degree and continued to develop her craft.
Fast forward to 2010, Kate's innovative web series, Le Typewriter, a modern take on the French new wave movement, caught the attention of the esteemed Webby Awards, earning her a nomination in the process. This recognition was a testament to Kate's unique perspective and talent, and it marked the beginning of a long and successful career in the film industry.
Years later, in 2015, Kate's direction of a music video would earn her another prestigious accolade, this time from the LA Femme International Film Festival, where she was honored with the "Best Music Video" award. This recognition served as a reminder of Kate's dedication to her craft and her ability to push boundaries and innovate in the world of filmmaking.
