Kate Moyer is a talented Canadian actress who rose to prominence with her supporting lead role in the Elevation Pictures feature film "Our House", alongside notable actors Thomas Mann, Nicola Peltz, and Percy Hynes White. Her captivating performance earned her a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the 2019 Canadian Screen Awards, a prestigious award recognizing outstanding film acting in Canada.
Moyer is particularly renowned for her portrayal of "Heather Hobbie" in the popular Hulu series "Holly Hobbie", which garnered her a second Canadian Screen Award nomination in 2020. Her heart-wrenching performance in the season 3 finale of the acclaimed series "The Handmaid's Tale" opposite Emmy Award-winning actress Elisabeth Moss received widespread acclaim. Moyer began her performing journey at the age of three as a dancer with the Theatre Dance Academy in Oshawa, Ontario, where she honed her skills in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Hip Hop. She joined their competition team at four years old and won numerous awards at various dance competitions throughout Ontario. However, she was first bitten by the acting bug when working on regional theatre productions.
In her free time, Moyer can be found practicing Taekwondo in her dojang, where she currently holds a 1st Dan Black Belt, or behind the easel painting or sketching.
