Kate's journey began in Leeds, where she received her formal education. She then pursued her passion for the performing arts by training at Rose Bruford College in the 1970s. Since then, she has had a prolific career, working extensively in film, theatre, television, and radio. Not only has she honed her skills as an actor, but she is also a talented writer and director. Her impressive repertoire includes a prize-winning poetry collection, showcasing her versatility as a creative individual.
Throughout her career, Kate has been drawn to complex and challenging projects, such as the critically acclaimed TV series "Clocking Off" and the award-winning docu-drama "The Arbor". Her most recent collaborations include working with Jim Loach on the powerful drama "Oranges and Sunshine" and Tom Shkolnik on the innovative, 100% improvised feature film "The Comedian", which is currently in post-production.
In addition to her dramatic work, Kate is also a skilled comedy actor. She had the privilege of touring "Celebrating Linda Smith", a tribute to the late comedian, where she performed stand-up routines that showcased her impressive comedic abilities.
