Katherine Danese Howell, born on August 18, 1949, on a small farm in Kentucky, is a remarkable individual who continues to reside on that same family farm. As the only child of Helen Spear Howell, a factory worker, and Daniel Lincoln Howell, a farmer, she has been deeply rooted in her rural upbringing. Her personal life is just as fascinating, as she married her high school sweetheart, Henry David Sanford, on April 29, 1972. Known affectionately as HD, and professionally as Dave Sanford, her husband of 49 years is also a talented actor. Together, they have two grown children, Luke Sanford of Wendell, NC, and Summer Sanford Bergeron of Sterling, VA, and twin grandchildren. For nearly two decades, Kate, as she was professionally known, worked as a reservation agent for a major airline, effortlessly assuming the name Kate to make her phone persona easier to state. Not only did she excel in her airline career, but she also pursued her passion for catering. Kate's acting career took off when she joined the Fountain Square Players in Bowling Green, Kentucky, a community theater group that served as her stepping-stone to stardom. Since 1995, Kate has been a professional actress, and alongside her husband, she currently resides on a tiny farm in Johntown, Kentucky. As an avid gardener, Kate takes great joy in sharing the flowers and vegetables she grows on their farm with others, a testament to her kind and nurturing spirit.
