Katherine Marlea Clark, born on July 17, 1963, is a distinguished American lawyer and politician who has been serving as the U.S. representative for Massachusetts's 5th congressional district since 2013.

As a prominent figure in American politics, Clark has held various influential positions, including being the House Minority Whip since 2023, and previously serving as Assistant House Democratic Leader, also known as the "Assistant Speaker", from 2021 to 2023.

Her congressional district encompasses a significant portion of Boston's northern and western satellite cities and suburbs, including Medford, Framingham, Woburn, Waltham, and her hometown of Revere.

Prior to her tenure in Congress, Clark was a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives from 2008 to 2011 and the Massachusetts Senate from 2011 to 2013.

Born in Connecticut, Clark began her career as an attorney, working in several states before relocating to Massachusetts in 1995, where she pursued a career in state government.

Clark's extensive political experience includes her membership on the Melrose School Committee, which she joined in 2002 and chaired from 2005. Her legislative accomplishments span a wide range of issues, including criminal justice, education, and municipal pensions.
