Keisha's early life was shaped by her upbringing in Brooklyn, New York, where she was raised by Trinidadian parents who instilled in her a deep appreciation for the arts. As a young child, she was bitten by the acting bug and began performing in grade school productions, making history as the first Black "Little Orphan Annie" and bringing Alvin from Alvin and the Chipmunks to life on stage.
However, her parents, who knew the value of education firsthand, encouraged Keisha to pursue a more practical career path. Her mother, who had grown up in poverty, believed that education was the key to a better life and persuaded Keisha to become a nurse. Keisha's natural aptitude and dedication to her studies led her to excel in both her nursing and acting classes, graduating at the top of her classes in both fields.
For many years, Keisha worked as a bedside nurse, using her skills to make a difference in the lives of her patients. Despite her success, she never lost sight of her passion for acting and her desire to improve healthcare quality. Her dual careers continue to be her main goals, driven by a burning fire to make a positive impact on the world.
Throughout her journey, Keisha has been inspired by the words of Marianne Williamson, who so eloquently stated, "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, and not our darkness that most frighten us." These words have become a guiding principle for Keisha, reminding her that her true potential is limitless and that she has the power to make a real difference in the world.
