Kelly Michelle Stables was born in the vibrant city of St. Louis, Missouri, where she began her theatrical journey by performing at The Muny Opera. She graduated cum laude from The University of Missouri, Columbia, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Theater, proudly earning top honors for her academic achievements.
Upon relocating to Los Angeles, Kelly quickly immersed herself in the city's thriving theater arts scene, taking on acting and choreographing roles in over two dozen plays and musical productions. Her impressive credits include notable titles such as The Little Foxes, Brady Bunch: The Musical, and Peter Pan at the Thousand Oaks Civic Light Opera, as well as seven title roles in LA's award-winning Storybook Theatre.
As Kelly continued to hone her craft, she became a company member of Theatre West and studied improvisation at The Groundlings. Simultaneously, she began landing roles on television and in film, leveraging her unique voice and petite stature to bring a wide range of colorful characters to life.
Kelly's breakthrough roles include her portrayal of the evil Samara in The Ring Two (2005),opposite Naomi Watts, as well as her iconic role as the bubbly and bright receptionist on the hit sitcom Two and a Half Men (2003). From 2011 to 2015, she played a paralegal by day and a party hopper by night as a series regular on the TV Land sitcom The Exes. She also had recurring roles on ABC's Romantically Challenged (2010),as the sassy sexpert little sister to Alyssa Milano, and on the CW's No Tomorrow (2016),as the stressed-out suburban mom.
In addition to her television and film work, Kelly has lent her soprano singing voice to several animated cartoons, including Doc McStuffins (2012),Tom and Jerry: The Lost Dragon (2014),and Sofia the First (2012). She has also appeared as the lovable but dim Cloud 9 employee on NBC's hit comedy Superstore (2015) and has recently been heard in Adventures in Odyssey (1987).
When not in front of the camera, Kelly enjoys a quiet, private life with her husband and two young children. She is an avid sewer, writer, and volunteer, often participating in school activities and giving back to her community.
