Ken Holmes was born in Teaneck, New Jersey, in the United States, and his family relocated to Vermont when he was just three years old. This early move would have a profound impact on his life, nurturing a passion for performing that would stay with him throughout his childhood.
In first grade, Ken would often act out in front of his classmates, assuming various characters and even mimicking a fundamentalist preacher who warned his peers of an impending apocalypse. This early fascination with performing would continue to evolve as he grew older.
Ken was later home-schooled, but his love of acting remained strong. He would spend hours in his room, recording pseudo-radio programs on his tape recorder, where he would create and voice a multitude of characters. He also had the opportunity to act in a few homeschool plays, further honing his craft.
When Ken was just twelve years old, he landed a role as Robin in "The Merry Wives of Windsor" at Castleton State College, now known as Castleton University, in Vermont. This experience would have a profound impact on his life, as it made him realize that a career in the arts was what he truly desired.
In 2006, Ken spent a semester abroad in London, where he had the opportunity to attend a play nearly every night, sometimes seeing multiple performances in a single day. During his time in London, he also took a master class on the craft of acting with the renowned actor Jeremy Irons.
The following year, Ken attended Castleton State College, where he studied Theatre with a concentration in Acting and Directing, as well as a minor in Writing. He graduated from CSC cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre.
Since graduating, Ken has continued to thrive in the entertainment industry, acting in films and plays, as well as writing. His film credits include the Burglar in "Cold in July" alongside Michael C. Hall, Sam Shepard, Don Johnson, and directed by Jim Mickle; a Hipster in "Hits" with Matt Walsh, James Adomian, Wyatt Cenac, Michael Cera, David Koechner, Amy Sedaris, Julia Stiles, Derek Waters, and directed by David Cross; and Nikola Tesla in the New England Emmy Award-winning TV show "The Folklorist."
Throughout his career, Ken has been a lead, supporting, and featured actor in over thirty films, and is also a screenplay writer. He is the founder of the film company Rain & Neon Productions.
