Ken Kensei, professionally known as Noboru Kataoka, is a globally recognized and esteemed Kendo instructor, as well as a formidable competitive Kendo player. His journey in the world of Kendo began at the tender age of 15 in Kochi, Japan, where he started his training in the art of Kendo.
As he matured, Ken Kensei's passion for Kendo only intensified, and he relocated to the United States at the age of 24, where he established himself as a Kendo teacher in New York City. Throughout his illustrious career, he has demonstrated exceptional skill and prowess in Kendo, competing and training in various parts of the world.
In addition to his impressive Kendo accomplishments, Ken Kensei also began studying Iaido at the age of 15. His dedication to mastering the art of Iaido has been unwavering, and his sword style has been preserved for over four centuries in Kochi, Japan. In fact, he is the 20th generation Menkyo-Kaiden, or successor, of the esteemed Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iaido.
Ken Kensei's multifaceted talents and accomplishments took an unexpected turn in 1980, when he was approached by casting professionals who were impressed by his Kendo and Iaido skills. This opportunity marked the beginning of his foray into the world of acting, and he subsequently devoted himself to studying the craft. With his impressive resume and multifaceted skills, Ken Kensei has successfully transitioned into the acting business, solidifying his status as a true Renaissance man.
