Ken Livingstone is a renowned socialist politician who has been an integral part of the political landscape since the late 1960s when he joined the Labour party. He was perceived as a stalwart of the "hard Left" faction, earning the nickname "Red Ken" from certain tabloids. Despite his two unsuccessful attempts to become the Leader of the Labour Party in the 1990s, Livingstone remained a prominent figure in British politics.
In the year 2000, he embarked on a successful campaign to become the Mayor of London as an independent candidate, ultimately winning the election twice and serving in the role from 2000 to 2008. Throughout his career, Livingstone has been a prolific author, penning memoirs and other publications.
In addition to his literary pursuits, Livingstone has also ventured into the world of television, appearing as a fictionalized version of himself in three separate series: Snakes and Ladders (1989),Faith (1994),and Trevor's World of Sport (2003). Demonstrating a willingness to poke fun at himself, he portrayed himself as "Red Ken", a psychiatric patient, in Episode #1.7 (1989) of Snakes and Ladders.
