However, his possession of a British passport proved to be a blessing in disguise, as he was instead held as a prisoner of war at MILAG, a prison camp specifically designed for merchant seamen. During his incarceration, Kenji remained resilient, actively participating in various shows and entertainment events to pass the time.
Upon his release from captivity following the conclusion of World War II, Kenji began to pursue his passion for the performing arts, landing small roles in West End productions.
