Kenneth A. Carlson is a renowned film director, producer, and photographer. He is best known for his documentary films, including "The Heart of Nuba," which profiles the courageous efforts of Dr. Tom Catena, the sole doctor for a million patients in the war-torn Nuba Mountains of Sudan.
Carlson's film career spans over three decades, during which he has directed and produced numerous feature-length and short films. His documentaries have premiered at major film festivals, including Sundance, and have been released theatrically and on various streaming platforms.
Some of his notable works include "Go Tigers!," a documentary that premiered at Sundance and was picked up for distribution by IFC Films; "The Heart of Nuba," which has been screened for US Congress, the British Parliament, and the International Criminal Court, among others; and "Those Who Serve," a documentary that follows the journeys of three psychologically wounded American combat veterans.
Carlson has also worked in television, directing and producing reality-based shows for networks such as NBC and ABC. He has produced several award-winning documentaries, including "Amargosa," which won an Emmy Award and was an Academy Award Finalist.
