Kent Lipham was born in 1961 to Jimmy and Nancy Lipham, and he has a younger brother named Jamie. At the age of sixteen, Kent's mother, fearing he was becoming agoraphobic, insisted that he join a club to help him overcome his fears. With his lack of intelligence, athleticism, and craftiness, the drama club seemed like the perfect fit for him. The roar of the grease paint and the smell of the crowd thrilled Kent, and he found a sense of belonging and excitement in the world of acting.
After graduating from Talladega High School in 1980, Kent's parents sent him to university, where he studied Communication Arts, with a focus on theatre. His favorite subjects were puppetry, ballet, and modern jazz, and he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Montevallo in 1984. Following his graduation, Kent packed up his orange Malibu Classic and headed to Hollywood, where he appeared in four films during the 1980s and early 1990s.
Despite his initial departure from the acting world, Kent's passion for acting never truly left his system. Encouraged by fans who visited his message boards on IMDB, Kent has recently decided to return to the business, reigniting his love for the craft and the thrill of performing in front of an audience.
