Kenton Duty's acting career commenced at the tender age of nine when he took to the stage in the Dallas Theater Center's production of "A Christmas Carol". His journey in the entertainment industry was kickstarted after being discovered at a workshop at the Young Actors Studio in Dallas, Texas, by the renowned Hollywood talent agent, Cindy Osbrink.
Before gaining widespread recognition, Duty initially made his mark in the role of "Jacob" on the hit television series, Lost, which premiered in 2004. Interestingly, not even Duty himself knew the identity of his character until nearly the final episode of the series. He was credited as "Teenage Boy" until the big reveal.
Fast forward to 2010, Duty landed a starring role on the Disney Channel original series, Shake It Up, where he portrayed the flamboyant dancer and fashion designer, "Gunther Hessenheffer", alongside Caroline Sunshine as his fraternal twin sister, "Tinka Hessenheffer". The dynamic duo of Gunther and Tinka is said to have been inspired by the iconic brother-sister duo, Ryan and Sharpay Evans, from Disney's "High School Musical" franchise.
