Kerry David has been a prominent figure in the film industry for over 25 years, with a career spanning multiple decades. She began her journey at Paramount Pictures, where she worked in Business Affairs and learned the contract side of filmmaking. This experience led her to work exclusively for Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, collaborating on films such as Mission Impossible 2, Without Limits, and Eyes Wide Shut.
After gaining valuable experience, Kerry started her own production company and co-produced the award-winning DVD Deposing the Usual Suspects. She went on to produce Agent Cody Banks and Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London, followed by the critically acclaimed documentary My Date with Drew. The film won multiple awards worldwide, including the Audience Award for Best Feature at the HBO Comedy Arts Festival and the Audience Award at The Locarno International Film Festival.
Kerry's subsequent projects included Expert Insight: Short Game Golf with Jim Furyk & Fred Funk, which won a Telly Award for Outstanding Instructional Content and Cinematic Excellence. She then adapted the New York Times bestseller Like Dandelion Dust by Karen Kingsbury, starring Mira Sorvino, Barry Pepper, and Cole Hauser. The film premiered at the prestigious Deauville Film Festival in France and won the Premiere Audience Award for Best Feature.
Kerry's next projects included 'Round Miles, reuniting living jazz legends who played with Miles Davis, and Seeking Happily Ever After, which was accepted into the Sundance Film Lab and released through Lionsgate. From 2010 to 2013, Kerry took a leave of absence from Hollywood to build an orphanage in West Africa, where she hand-picked a team to build a "Musical Village for Orphans".
After her time in Ghana, Kerry returned to Hollywood and continued to produce films, including the award-winning documentary Bill Coors: The Will to Live. She also wrote, directed, and produced Breaking Their Silence: Women on the Frontline of the Poaching War, which received a standing ovation at its premiere and won 17 film festivals.
In 2020, Kerry started filming Open Secret, a documentary exposing corruption and collusion in a cover-up culture. She has also executive produced several films, including The Road Ahead for Hallmark.
