Kerry Knuppe is an enrolled Oglala Lakota Sioux tribal member from the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. She initially gained recognition in the film industry with her lead performance in the 2007 film "Skills Like This", which won the SXSW Audience Award. Subsequently, she relocated to Los Angeles.
In 2022, Kerry attended the Red Nation Film Festival, where she received the Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role award for her performance in the film "On Sacred Ground", a 2023 release that focuses on the 2016 Standing Rock-Dakota Access Pipeline protest. Her recent film leads include Nicolas Cage's western "The Old Way", Universal's "R.I.P.D. 2: Rise of the Damned" alongside Jeffery Donaven, and "All Those Small Things" with James Faulkner.
