Biography

Kevin Donovan is a filmmaker renowned for his captivating commercials and music videos, which have garnered international recognition. He made his feature film directing debut in 2002 with the Dreamworks action comedy "The Tuxedo," starring Jackie Chan and Jennifer Love Hewitt. The film has grossed over $100 million to date and has become a favorite among young Kung Fu enthusiasts.

With a subtle and intelligent storytelling style, Kevin takes great care in casting, often introducing an element of surprise to his ideas. His training as a visual artist enables him to sketch his own ideas and bring stories to life before a single frame is shot.

Born in Montana, Kevin played football for Montana State University before pursuing his film career. He attended Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and later became an art director at Cliff Freeman and Partners, BBDO, and J. Walter Thompson in New York. His urge to direct and bring stories to life led to tremendous success in the U.S. and international markets.

Throughout his career, Kevin has received numerous awards, including five Cannes Lions. His commercials have been short-listed at the festival over twenty times, and he has won several prestigious awards, including a Silver Lion at Cannes for his University of California campaign and a Bronze Lion for "The Rant" for Molson Canadian. His most recent accolades include an award from the New York Film Festival for his satirical re-imagining of "March Of The Penguins," a promotional short film for the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival.

Kevin's work has been featured in prominent magazines, including AdCritic, Marketing, Shots, Boards, and Shoot. His American Heart Association sixty-second spot aired twice during the 2007 Super Bowl. His commercial clients have included Pontiac, Toyota, Pepsi, McDonald's, Coca Cola, Lever Brothers, Viagra, Wendy's, Sharpie, Planter's Peanuts, Nestea, Cadbury, and Wild Aid.

Kevin has recently completed a series of Ford Truck spots featuring country music phenomenon Toby Keith and "America's Dirtiest Jobs" host Mike Rowe. He continues to pursue directing and writing, both in features and commercials, and brings his unique visual style to each project. Kevin splits his time between residences in Los Angeles and Montana, as well as familiar hotels in Toronto and New York.
