Kevin Matthew Fertig is a renowned American realtor and professional wrestler, widely recognized for his impressive stints with WWE under the pseudonyms Mordecai and Kevin Thorn.
Fertig embarked on his professional wrestling journey in the year 2000, swiftly transitioning to the Memphis Championship Wrestling promotion in his hometown, where he adopted the ring name Seven. During his time in MCW, he successfully won the Hardcore, Southern Tag Team, and Southern Heavyweight Championships.
In April 2002, Fertig inked a contract with WWE, subsequently being assigned to their developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW). For a period of two years, he competed in OVW, partnering with Travis Bane to claim the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship. Eventually, he was promoted to the SmackDown brand as Mordecai, a devout religious zealot. However, this character's tenure was brief, and Fertig returned to OVW before being released in mid-2005.
Fertig spent the subsequent year wrestling on the independent circuit before rejoining WWE in 2006 to compete on its ECW brand as Kevin Thorn, a vampire-inspired character. Ariel served as his valet, and later, he became a part of the New Breed faction in early 2007. Following Ariel's release in mid-2007, Thorn continued to wrestle on ECW, but was eventually transferred to OVW in late 2007, after undergoing an image change.
Fertig's wrestling career continued in both OVW and WWE's other developmental territory, Florida Championship Wrestling, until his contract was terminated in January 2009. He subsequently returned to the independent circuit and also wrestled in Europe as Seven Thorn.
