Kevin Reynolds, a filmmaker with a passion for cinema, was raised as an Air Force brat, which sparked his desire to pursue a career in the film industry. Despite his parents' aspirations for him to attend law school, Reynolds decided to forgo his degree and relocate to Los Angeles to enroll in the University of Southern California's renowned film school.
During his time at USC, Reynolds' graduate thesis film, titled "Proof," served as the foundation for his feature film debut, "Fandango," which starred Kevin Costner and was produced by Amblin Entertainment, a production company founded by the legendary filmmaker, Steven Spielberg. Reynolds' work at USC also led to the creation of the Cold War cult classic, "Red Dawn," which was directed by John Milius.
Reynolds' extensive filmography includes directing credits for a wide range of projects, such as "The Beast," "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves," "Rapa Nui," "Waterworld," "The Count of Monte Cristo," "Tristan + Isolde," and "One Eight Seven." In addition to his feature film work, Reynolds also directed the episode "You Gotta Believe Me" for Spielberg's anthology television series, "Amazing Stories."
In recent years, Reynolds has continued to showcase his directing skills, helming the miniseries "Hatfields & McCoys" for the History Channel and Sony Pictures Television. Throughout his career, Reynolds has demonstrated his versatility as a filmmaker, working on a variety of projects that showcase his talent and dedication to the craft.
