John Bovill is a character actor who has accumulated over 100 credits in the entertainment industry, despite initially stepping away from a successful career as a marketing executive in high tech in 2008.
Notable roles he has played include Henry Kissinger in the Oscar-winning film "Vice", Richard Sims, a killer, on the popular TV show "Hawaii Five O", Bibs, a redneck bartender, on NBC's "Perfect Harmony", a clueless Confederate sentry in Netflix's "Kevin Hart's Guide to Black History", and the voice of Dick, a blue-collar trucker, in the hit video game "Dead Rising 3".
John Bovill has been chosen to play Donald Sterling in HBO's upcoming series "Winning Time", which is based on the 1980s era Los Angeles Lakers. He will be working with the executive producers of "Vice", Adam McKay and Kevin Messick, and the show will feature a cast that includes John C Reilly, Jason Clarke, and Molly Gordon, with showrunner Max Borenstein.

As an undergrad and grad assistant coach at the University of Nebraska and LSU, respectively, John Bovill was part of the staffs that won five NCAA team titles in women's track and field.
In his free time, John Bovill enjoys cycling, scuba diving, trying new foods, and traveling the world. He and his wife, Joni, were married in Jamaica in 1995 and currently reside in Los Angeles.
