Klay Hall, a Film major graduate from the California Institute of the Arts, where he was fortunate enough to attend on a Walt Disney scholarship. During his time at the university, he balanced his academic responsibilities with freelancing animation work for Don Bluth's American Tail. Upon graduation, Hall was quickly snapped up by Brad Bird to work on the acclaimed episode "Family Dog" for Universal/Amblin's Amazing Stories series.
His next stop was John Krisfalusi's production of the innovative New Adventures of Mighty Mouse for CBS, where he honed his skills and built his reputation as a talented animator. Hall's impressive portfolio soon caught the eye of the Simpsons team, and he was invited to join the show as a director, a role he held for six seasons. He worked his way up the ranks, eventually becoming a key part of the show's creative team.
The success of his work on The Simpsons led to an invitation to join the team behind King of the Hill, where he served as director for the first three seasons before being promoted to supervising director for seasons four through seven. After completing his work on King of the Hill, Hall was approached by Jeffrey Katzenberg to helm the production of Father of the Pride, the first prime-time animated show to feature computer-generated imagery.
Following the conclusion of Father of the Pride in 2005, Disney brought Hall on board to direct the film Chicken Little Two. His impressive work on the film caught the attention of John Lasseter, who personally asked Hall to direct two films for Disney: Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure and Planes. Hall has since been content creator on a wide range of projects, including franchise films, shorts, commercials, and music videos, and has worked with top development teams across various Disney divisions.
As part of the Disney story brain trust, Hall has collaborated with Target Group International, American Airlines, Disney Channel, and ABC, and has helped lead creative efforts on concept design through finished product with major brands like Mattel, Think Way Toys, and Jakks Pacific. His impressive resume and extensive experience have made him a sought-after talent in the animation industry.
