Biography

Kotoko Kawamura-Kroesen, a talented Japanese actress, hailed from the culturally rich and historic city of Kyoto, where her life's journey began. Following the early years of her life in her native land, she embarked on a remarkable odyssey, relocating to the picturesque coastal city of Santa Monica, California, where she would reside for over four decades. As the years passed, her wanderlust led her to yet another enchanting destination, the tropical paradise of Maui, Hawaii, where she would eventually make her home.

It wasn't until later in life, when she had reached the milestone age of approximately 70 years, that Kotoko Kawamura-Kroesen discovered her true calling as an actress. And what a remarkable debut it was! Her breakout role in the critically acclaimed film Memoirs of a Geisha, released in 2005, would cement her status as a talented and accomplished actress, leaving an indelible mark on the world of cinema.
