Lagueria Davis, a native of Fort Worth, Texas, was raised in a household where practicality was paramount, which led her to pursue a double major in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Oklahoma.
Three years and three internships into her engineering program, Davis's creative urges became too great to ignore, and she made the bold decision to leave engineering behind, opting instead to enroll in the School of Art.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Media Art, Davis worked a variety of jobs that she describes as "character building," including stints with Americorps, Colorado Mountain Ranch, and the American Red Cross.
Her experiences in these roles ultimately prepared her for a career in the entertainment industry, where she landed her first job as an Office Production Assistant on a Terence Malick film.
Davis continued to work in production until she was offered a Writers Production Assistant position on season two of The L Word: Generation Q, working under the guidance of Showrunner Marja-Lewis Ryan.
Following her work on The L Word, Davis was selected to participate in the Mentorship Matters Program, where she was paired with Niceole Levy.
Throughout her career, Davis has written several feature specs and four original pilots, and has achieved notable success in screenwriting competitions, including being a 2016 Academy Nicholl Quarterfinalist and a four-time Austin Film Festival Second Rounder.
As a queer, INFJ aquarian, born in the year of the horse, Davis is as unique as her name, with a distinct personality and creative voice that sets her apart in the industry.
