Lana Therese Condor, a talented Vietnamese-born American actress, first appeared on the big screen in the 2016 film X-Men: Apocalypse, taking on the character of Jubilation Lee / Jubilee. Born on May 11, 1997, in Can Tho, Vietnam, Condor was adopted by her American parents, Mary Carol (Haubold) and journalist Robert Condor, as an infant.
Her early years were spent in Chicago, Illinois, before her family relocated to Whidbey Island, Washington, where she began taking dance classes at the tender age of seven. Condor's passion for dance led her to train at the Rock School of Dance Education and the Spectrum Dance Theater in Seattle.
At the age of 11, Condor and her family made the move to New York City, where she continued her classical ballet training at prestigious academies such as the Joffrey School of Classical Ballet, the Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet, and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.
While living in New York, Condor's parents encouraged her to explore her acting abilities, noticing a natural talent in their daughter. She took her first acting class during her freshman year at the Professional Performing Arts School and later studied at the New York Film Academy for a summer.
Condor's family then relocated to Los Angeles, California, for her sophomore year of high school, where she landed a coveted spot in the Los Angeles Ballet. She also joined the theatre department at her all-girls Catholic school, the Notre Dame Academy, and studied at the Yale Summer Conservatory for Actors during her senior year.
During her senior year, Condor went out on her first handful of auditions and landed the role of Jubilation Lee / Jubilee in X-Men: Apocalypse (2016).
