Lana Young was born in Bermuda to a Northern Irish mother, Margaret Young, a marathoner and top Realtor, and a Bermudian father, Stan Young, a local football star. Growing up, Lana was a regular on the stage and excelled in various sports, including track and field, soccer, and field hockey, earning her a varsity athlete spot at Carleton University.
Despite her passion for acting, it wasn't an encouraged pursuit in Bermuda, so Lana took a decade-long detour in the corporate world before pursuing her dream. She earned her Master's degree in Acting from the Arts Educational School in London and never looked back.
Lana's career is filled with a wide range of roles, including recurring parts in hospital dramas, TV shows, and films. Some of her notable roles include Dr. Mary Osder in The Resident, Inez Trujillo in Ambitions, Dr. Lopes in Tell Me a Story, Mrs. Douglas in The Vampire Diaries, Dr. Jacinta Butler in Greenleaf, and Gloria Ruiz in The Inspectors. She has also made guest appearances in Gone, Kevin Can Wait, The Act, and WandaVision, opposite Teyonah Parris, Julianne Moore, and Clive Owen.
Lana has had the privilege of working with renowned actors, including Christopher Plummer and Ewan McGregor in the Oscar-winning film Beginners, Jake Gyllenhaal and Rachel McAdams in the boxing drama Southpaw, and Emily Blunt and Justin Theroux in the feature film The Girl on the Train. She recently starred in Tyler Perry's passion project, A Jazzman's Blues, and received a nomination for Most Outstanding Ensemble Cast in a Motion Picture.
When she's not acting, Lana stays true to her roots by performing on stage. She most recently played the role of Paulina in The Winter's Tale at Hartford Stage, receiving rave reviews. Lana currently resides in New York City with her cats, Monkey and Lennon, who are known for their tricks.
