Lata Sharma, a multifaceted and accomplished individual, hails from Bangor, boasting an impressive array of talents that span the realms of television, radio, acting, singing, and even playwriting and scriptwriting for the small screen. Her artistic journey began at a tender age, with the encouragement of her father, as she took to the stage, captivating audiences with her classical and folk music performances at local festivals throughout the province.

Fast forward to 1983, when Lata received a prestigious scholarship from the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, a coveted opportunity that enabled her to hone her creative skills through the medium of theatrical arts. Undeterred by the challenges of breaking into the industry, Lata persisted, compiling a show reel of her work and disseminating numerous VHS cassettes to companies and producers across the UK, ultimately securing a coveted spot with the BBC on the esteemed Holiday programme and Country File. This breakthrough led to further opportunities with Radio 2, marking the beginning of an illustrious career that has continued to flourish to this day.
