Laura Alemán is a talented actress born and raised in Puerto Rico. She comes from an entertainment family, and her career in the industry began at a young age. At 7, she started performing in a theater variety show alongside her mother, a vocal coach. Laura's professional dancing career spanned many years, and she trained with the National Puerto Rican Ballet in Puerto Rico. Her first commercial at 14 marked a turning point, as she decided to focus on acting full-time. She landed a leading role in the Telemundo series "Zona Y" and later attended Sacred Heart University in Puerto Rico and Hunter College in New York.
Laura holds two bachelor's degrees, one in dramatic arts and the other in film production. She has also attended Fundación José Ortega y Gasset in Madrid and Toledo, Spain. Her extensive education has provided her with a solid foundation in the arts.
Laura's latest project is the Freevee series "Casa Grande," which will be released in both English and Spanish on May 1. The show revolves around the lives of an undocumented migrant workforce and their relationships with wealthy landowners in Northern California. Laura plays the role of Paula, the mother of one of the show's protagonists, Noah. Her character's journey, which involves leaving an abusive relationship for a better life, holds special significance for Laura.
Apart from her acting career, Laura is also a singer and songwriter. She has previously worked for Universal and BMI Music, writing songs for other artists. Additionally, Laura is a certified Yoga instructor and owned a paddle boarding company in Puerto Rico.
