Laura Gómez began her acting career in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, before moving to New York City, where she has resided for over 13 years, pursuing professional training.
She is renowned for her portrayal of Blanca Flores in the popular Netflix series "Orange is the New Black" and is a member of the Spanish Repertory Theater, having appeared in critically acclaimed productions such as "Doña Flor and Her Two Husbands" and "The House of the Spirits", adapted by Obie Award-winning playwright Caridad Svich.
As a skilled Voice Over artist, Laura is the official announcer for the brands Covergirl and Suave Professionals, and has lent her voice to audio books like "Of How the Garcia Girls Lost their Accent" by Julia Alvarez and "The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao" by Junot Díaz.
In 2011, Laura received the IX Screenwriting Developing Grant from the Carolina Foundation in Spain, a prestigious honor recognizing her talent and dedication to her craft.
Furthermore, Laura has starred in several short films, including "To Kill a Roach", which won the NYU 2012 Technisphere Award for Outstanding Achievement, as well as "Hallelujah", both of which she also wrote, produced, and directed, showcasing her versatility and creative range as an artist.
