Lawrence, a first-generation American, was born to Eastern European World War II refugees who fled to the United States. His artistic journey began in the theater department at Santa Monica College, where he developed his skills and passion for the performing arts. He went on to earn his Bachelor's degree from the University of Florida, after which he returned to Los Angeles and continued his studies under the guidance of legendary character actor Allan Rich.
With a diverse range of experience, Lawrence has appeared in numerous films, television shows, and commercials. He is also a seasoned stage actor, having performed in over 40 plays throughout his career. His extensive experience has led him to become a respected figure in the LA theater scene, with a strong connection to several notable theater companies.
In 2008, Lawrence co-founded the American Latino Theatre with his long-time collaborator, David Meiselman. This groundbreaking initiative has produced critically acclaimed productions and brought theatrical performances to economically depressed neighborhoods, enriching the lives of countless children.
Beyond his work in the theater, Lawrence is also a talented fine arts painter and martial arts instructor with over 20 years of teaching experience. His impressive resume also includes the screenwriter and producer credits for the feature film Strike One, starring Danny Trejo, which is now available worldwide.
