Born in the picturesque Pidgeon Roost Holler, West Virginia, I was the child of a coal miner who, due to the hazards of his profession, was left blind as a result of prolonged exposure to the toxic fumes emitted by the carbide lamps used in the mines. In a remarkable display of compassion and dedication to their workers, the John L. Lewis Mine Worker's Union arranged for my father to undergo surgery at the esteemed Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
Following this life-altering event, my family relocated to New Castle, Delaware, where my mother found employment as a parachute maker, contributing to the war effort during World War II. For an impressive 33 years, I dedicated myself to my role as a homemaker, raising three daughters alongside my husband, a psychiatrist and lawyer. Tragedy struck in 1992 when my beloved partner perished in an airplane crash, leaving me to navigate the challenges of widowhood.
In the aftermath of this devastating loss, I discovered a hidden passion for the performing arts, which had long been simmering beneath the surface. In 1994, I made the bold decision to pursue this lifelong dream, embarking on a career in acting that has since flourished. With a diverse range of credits in commercials, television, feature films, and stage plays, I am proud to report that my income has surpassed the six-figure mark.
Beyond my professional endeavors, I am committed to giving back to my community through volunteer work, utilizing my spare time to make a positive impact on the world around me.
