Leigh Sheehan has had a remarkable career in film production spanning over two and a half decades.
After joining Australia's largest advertising agency Clemenger BBDO, Leigh embarked on a freelance Director/Producer journey in 1985. He swiftly made a name for himself by directing television drama, including the popular series "Flotsam & Jetsam" for Motion Picture Management in Brisbane, as well as TV movies "For Better, For Worse" and the critically acclaimed "The Carer," starring Charles Bud Tingwell.
Fast forward to 1998, Leigh developed his first feature film project, "Dalkeith," starring Ray Barrett. The film garnered international attention, was short-listed for Cannes' prestigious Directors Fortnight, and was sold internationally by Highpoint films. It went on to screen in various Australian cinemas for three years, earning acclaim as a gem of Australian cinema. Additionally, it was screened on the Nine network and Foxtel's Showtime network.
In 2008, Leigh's next feature project, "Under A Red Moon," premiered, featuring powerful performances from Richard Norton, Jane Badler, and Ditch Davey. The film was sold internationally by Melismedias Asia Pacific.
In 2013, Rialto Entertainment's thriller "6 Plots" was released theatrically, boasting an exciting cast of up-and-coming young actors, including Ryan Corr, Eliza Taylor, Penelope Mitchell, Alice Darling, and Andrew Clark. The film attracted international sales to Japan, the USA, the UK, Germany, and throughout Europe, and was sold in Cannes the previous year.
Currently, Leigh is working with his producing partner Julie McBeth on "In The Wake," a major feature film based on a true story, alongside renowned producers Robert Raymond (Schindler's List) and Antony Ginnane, one of Australia's most prominent film producers.
