Lentswe Bhengu, a native of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, has been captivated by the world of food and dining since his adolescence, his fascination with the culinary arts gradually growing stronger with each passing day. Prior to embarking on his journey to become a professional chef, Bhengu had a successful career in the investment finance industry, where he donned a suit and tie, exuding an air of professionalism and sophistication.
However, in 2010, he made the bold decision to trade in his corporate attire for a chef's jacket, enrolling at the esteemed The Culinary Academy in the Cape Winelands. Through sheer determination and hard work, he earned his professional chef certification, underwritten by City and Guilds, a testament to his unwavering dedication to his craft.
Following his graduation, Bhengu worked his way up the ranks of numerous fine dining establishments in Cape Town, honing his culinary skills and building a reputation as a skilled chef, his expertise and creativity in the kitchen earning him widespread recognition and acclaim. In addition to his culinary pursuits, Bhengu has also made a name for himself in the entertainment industry, regularly appearing as a guest chef on South African television, serving as a master of ceremonies and chef at various food festivals, events, and expos, and even presenting on the popular television show, The Great South African Bake Off.
