Leo Primerano was born and raised in the vibrant city of Montreal, Canada, where he was surrounded by a strong and passionate Italian culture and values, thanks to his mother Franca Sicilia and father Luigi Primerano. His mother, of Italian descent, and father, born and raised in Calabria, Italy, instilled in him a deep appreciation for his heritage. Growing up in a multicultural city like Montreal, Leo was exposed to a diverse range of cultures and traditions, which would later influence his work in the entertainment industry.
Leo's love for performing and being in front of the camera began at a young age. In a "career" class presentation at the age of 10, he showcased his aspirations to pursue a career in theatre, television, and film. As he grew older, he began to achieve his goals, starting with his early high school years when he landed the role of Mercutio in Romeo and Juliette.
Leo's passion for the performing arts only intensified as he pursued higher education. He studied Cinema and Communications at Dawson College, where he wrote, directed, and starred in numerous student films. He later enrolled in the Theatre program at Concordia University, further honing his craft.
After completing his studies, Leo quickly found himself landing lead roles in various productions around the city. Some of these productions went on to be showcased at prestigious film festivals, including the Festival International de Cannes, Palm Spring International Short Fest, and The New York Los Angeles International Film Festival.
In 2012, Leo, along with his friends Kevin Demers and Tarek A. Gharzouzi, founded a film production company called "Bubo Pictures" with the aim of expanding their visibility and showcasing their talents and stories.
The following year, Leo made the move to Vancouver, British Columbia, known as "Hollywood North." Within a month, he landed his first supporting role alongside actors Ron Perlman, Dolph Lundgren, Michael Jai White, and Tony Jaa in the action-packed film "Skin Trade," playing the role of Janko, a cocaine-driven Eastern European sex trafficker.
Leo continued to land roles in popular television shows such as "Arrow," "Supernatural," and "Motive" within his first year in Vancouver's entertainment industry. He is not only known for his tough-guy roles but also for his commitment to his characters. During the filming of "Prison Break" in 2016, Leo suffered a broken nose during a fight scene but chose to continue the scene and finish delivering his dialogue, showcasing his dedication to his craft.
Today, Leo continues to live and work out of Vancouver, BC, where he remains a prominent figure in the entertainment industry. His passion for storytelling and commitment to his craft are evident in all his work, both on and off screen.
