Biography

Leslie Nipkow is a multifaceted individual, exceling in various creative pursuits as an actor and writer. Her personal experiences, including being a breast cancer survivor and the daughter of an Auschwitz survivor, have significantly influenced her writing style.

As a result, her characters often find themselves battling against overwhelming odds, whether it be institutionalized prejudice, a Category 5 hurricane, or their own rogue cells. This reflects her ability to craft compelling narratives that explore the human condition.

Leslie has recently received several prestigious awards and fellowships, including the Black List x Hornitos "Take Your Shot" Fellowship Grant, which will enable her to direct a proof-of-concept short film for her award-winning feature drama "Salt of the Earth". This project showcases her dedication to storytelling and her passion for bringing complex characters to life.

In addition to her film work, Leslie is a published author, with her writing featured in prominent publications such as the New York Times and O: the Oprah Magazine.
