Licia Maglietta, a renowned Italian actress, was born in Naples in 1954. She pursued her passion for architecture, graduating with a degree in 1981. The following year, she made her debut on stage in Mario Martone's "Tango glaciale," marking the beginning of a long-standing collaboration with the director. Over a decade later, Martone would also cast her in her film debut, "Death of a Neapolitan Mathematician," released in 1992.
Throughout her career, Maglietta has worked with various directors, but her popularity among the Italian audience is largely attributed to her collaborations with Silvio Soldini. Their partnership resulted in several notable projects, including "Le acrobate" in 1997, "Bread and Tulips" in 2000, and "Agata and the Storm" in 2004.
In addition to her work in film, Maglietta has also appeared in several television mini-series, such as "In Treatment" in 2013.
