Lill Roughley, a talented English actress, has been captivating audiences on British television since the 1970s. During the 1980s and 1990s, she frequently collaborated with the renowned comedian Victoria Wood, taking on a diverse range of roles in Wood's various BBC comedy series.
Roughley's early career saw her land minor roles in several popular programs, including the 1979 productions of "All the Fun of the Fair" and "Tales of the Unexpected". She also appeared in "Victoria Wood: As Seen on TV" (1985),"Bergerac" (1981),and "Inspector Morse" (1987).
Roughley reunited with Victoria Wood in 1989, featuring in four of Wood's six comedy plays for television, and again in 1992's "Victoria Wood's All Day Breakfast". That same year, she played the role of Alice in the first series of "Mulberry". Roughley's notable performance as Lorraine Thomson in one episode of "Coronation Street" aired on May 17th, 1996. However, she is perhaps most famous for her long-running role as Ella Dawkins in the popular sitcom "My Hero", which she played from 2000 to 2006.
