Lillian Lim, a multifaceted individual with a passion for various pursuits, was born on March 29, 1952, in Vancouver, British Columbia, where she spent the first decade of her life immersed in the vibrant culture of Chinatown. Her early years were marked by the influence of Toisan, the dialect of southern China, which became her first language.
Lillian's academic journey began at the University of British Columbia, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy in 1975. She then spent three years working in the field before returning to university to pursue a Doctorate Degree in Dentistry, which she completed in 1983. For the next 27 years, she dedicated herself to her dental practice.
At the age of 58, Lillian made a significant career shift by enrolling in a one-year fashion design program in September 2010. After completing her studies, she took a year to learn Mandarin and then traveled to Shanghai, China, in November 2012, to intern with a renowned couture designer who now works with Armani. This experience sparked a new passion within her.
Upon returning to Vancouver in October 2013, Lillian decided to care for her ailing 90-year-old mother. During this time, she rediscovered her love for acting, a passion that had been dormant for many years. With the help of her middle daughter, Megan Hui, a stunt actor with dual Canadian and American citizenship, Lillian found an agent in May 2014.
Since then, she has booked roles in five feature films, including The Unseen (2014),DARC (2015),Birth of the Dragon (2016),Meditation Park (2017),and The Perfection (2018). She has also appeared in a commercial for jet.com in 2015 and several episodic television productions. Throughout her journey, Lillian has never looked back, embracing each new challenge with enthusiasm and dedication.
