Lisa Cerasoli left her hometown of Iron Mountain in Michigan's Upper Peninsula after graduating from Iron Mountain High School. She initially attended Michigan State University, majoring in pre-med within the prestigious Lyman Briggs School of Science.
However, Lisa's aspirations to pursue a medical career were short-lived due to her hypochondriac tendencies. Feeling overwhelmed, she took a break during spring break in Arizona and never returned to Michigan State. Instead, she enrolled at Arizona State University, where she earned a practical theater degree four years later.
Lisa's acting career took off in Los Angeles, where she landed her first series, Acapulco Bay, within nine months. She went on to secure recurring roles on General Hospital and The Pretender, as well as guest appearances on several other TV shows.
In 2002, Lisa and her manager met with Ken Atchity about her screenplay, On the Brink of Bliss and Insanity. Although Atchity suggested she write a novel instead, Lisa was initially unsure how to begin. However, she was eventually inspired and wrote three chapters before becoming hooked.
Tragedy struck when Lisa's father was diagnosed with advanced lung cancer. She returned to Iron Mountain to care for him until his passing, completing her first book during that time. Two months later, Lisa married her high school friend Peter Weaver, and they started a family.
Lisa's writing career gained momentum with the publication of On the Brink of Bliss and Insanity in 2009, which won several awards. She also wrote a memoir, As Nora Jo Fades Away, about her experiences caring for her grandmother with progressive dementia. The memoir won several festivals and was published in 2010.
As of 2018, Lisa lives in Marquette, Michigan with her daughter Jazz and runs 529 Books, a full-service editorial and book design company. She is also a ghostwriter and vice president of Ken Atchity's Story Merchant Books, which specializes in publishing books and selling movie rights. Lisa co-authored the how-to book Tell Your Story to the World and Sell It for Millions with Ken Atchity, which was released in mid-2018.
