Lisa DeWitt was born in Oakland, California to a German mother and African American father, who was a trailblazer in his community, serving as the first ever African American City Council member and Vice Mayor of Alameda, California. Growing up on the island town of Alameda, Lisa developed a deep affection for the magic of cinema, which dates back to her childhood days spent riding in the back of the family station wagon, clad in pajamas, and watching movies under the stars at the local drive-in. Her Saturday night outings introduced her to iconic films featuring Clint Eastwood in "Hang Em High", Raquel Welch in "One Million Years B.C.", "2001: Space Odyssey", "JD's Revenge", "Dirty Dozen", "Jaws", and "The Godfather". As she matured, Lisa's fascination with the filmmaking process only intensified, and she devoured books on the subject, including "Rebel Without a Crew" by Robert Rodriguez, "Making Movies" by Sidney Lumet, and any and all literature on Spike Lee. After a successful corporate career in Oakland, California, Lisa embarked on her acting career in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1997, studying and working on various stage, commercial, film, and voiceover projects. She relocated to Los Angeles in 2003, and has since worked on-camera as well as behind the camera, contributing to numerous independent films.
