Lita Grey's professional journey began at the tender age of 12 when she started working at Charles Chaplin's Hollywood studio, initially appearing in minor roles within a couple of his films. Three years later, at the age of 15, she had a second encounter with Chaplin, and by the time she turned 16, she had become pregnant with his child. This led to their marriage in 1924, with Lita being just 16 years old and Chaplin being 35. During their three-year union, they welcomed two sons into the world before their marriage ultimately ended in a tumultuous divorce.
Following the demise of her marriage, Lita Grey pursued a career in the entertainment industry, performing at various clubs in both Europe and the United States. She then embarked on an eight-year touring venture with the Radio Keith Orpheum theater circuit before ultimately retiring from the show business scene in 1947.
