Liz Kirkman's biography begins with her birth in Hamilton, New Zealand, where she would later develop a passion for the arts. Growing up in Palmerston North, she attended Freyberg High School, a renowned musical institution where she honed her skills on the clarinet and sang in various choirs. Her early exposure to the world of musical theater laid the foundation for a lifelong pursuit of her craft.
After performing in numerous musicals, Liz continued her education at Massey University, where she studied under the guidance of Dr. Angie Farrow. She later transferred to Victoria University of Wellington, where she earned an Honours Degree in Theatre, specializing in scriptwriting, community theater, and directing.
Throughout her academic and professional journey, Liz has been committed to sharing her knowledge and expertise with others. She has taught on various national performing arts courses and has also had the opportunity to instruct internationally in Singapore.
As a performer, Liz has had the privilege of working on several notable projects. She has collaborated with Ralph Johnson on two-person adaptations of King Lear, Macbeth, and Othello, and together they have also appeared in the feature film Eternity (2013). Ralph's portrayal of Sherlock Holmes earned him the Best Supporting Actor award at the 2013 Madrid Film Festival.
In 2014, Liz is set to appear in several exciting projects, including the New Zealand Film Commission-funded short film Cub, the web series CNT Live, and the web series Hutt Valley Dream Project. She is also slated to take on a lead role in a new feature film written and directed by Chaz Harris.
