His professional endeavors included working as a member of Spike Jones and his City Slickers, Arden's Dairy in California, where he donned the role of a cowboy for public relations purposes, as well as a cowboy at Knott's Berry Farm in California.
In addition to these roles, he also served as a doorman at the iconic Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, where his extraordinary height was first noticed by industry professionals. This attention to his stature ultimately led to his casting in the role of Gort.
Furthermore, he hosted a popular children's television program in the Los Angeles area during the 1950s, affectionately titled "The Gentle Giant." Despite his impressive physical stature, he was not particularly strong for his size.
Following his passing, he was laid to rest at the esteemed Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills, California, where he remains to this day.
