Logan Leistikow, a multifaceted filmmaker with a flair for comedy, has established a remarkable career spanning over a decade. His journey began in 2006, when he started creating and distributing viral videos online. One of his most notable early works was the "Mustache Montage," which caught the attention of IFC's Media Lab TV show, earning him the title of "Featured Director" for August 2006.
That same year, Leistikow released another viral sensation, "Michael Jordan's Phobia Clinic," which was entered into a Yahoo video contest. The piece impressed celebrity judge Tom Green, who exclaimed, "I think these guys need to have their own sketch comedy show online." Not long after, Leistikow was hired by Green to produce, direct, and edit his online celebrity talk show, Tom Green Live.
After the initial run of Tom Green Live concluded in 2007, Leistikow freelanced in Los Angeles, taking on a diverse range of projects related to the entertainment industry. His freelance work included camera operation, background acting, editing, grip work, producing, and even carpentry. During this period, he crossed paths with a group of comedians who performed monthly shows in their garage, dubbed "The Comedy Garage." Inspired by their live performances, Leistikow decided to produce and direct a feature-length film that would blend stand-up comedy with documentary elements.
In 2010, Leistikow signed a one-year contract with NBC.com, where he worked on various behind-the-scenes and promotional projects for shows such as Last Comic Standing, The Apprentice, Parenthood, Days of Our Lives, Minute to Win It, and The Marriage Ref. Following the expiration of his contract in February 2011, Leistikow released his documentary, The Comedy Garage, a testament to his continued growth as a filmmaker.
