Biography

Louis Godbout is a renowned Canadian film director and screenwriter hailing from the vibrant province of Quebec. Prior to his illustrious career in the film industry, he held a prestigious position as a professor of philosophy at the esteemed Cégep du Vieux-Montréal, where he earned his Ph.D. by conducting an in-depth study on the works of the influential German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Godbout has also made significant contributions to the realm of philosophical literature, publishing several thought-provoking works, including "Du golf, parcours philosophique" in 2007, "Nietzche et la probité" in 2008, and "Hiérarchies" in 2010.

In 2019, Godbout made his directorial debut with the film "Mont Foster", which was met with critical acclaim. He also collaborated with director Claude Lalonde on the film "Coda", serving as the screenwriter. Furthermore, Godbout's screenplay "A Revision" (Une révision) was brought to life by director Catherine Therrien in 2021.
