Louis is a native of Washington State, having hailing from the Pacific Northwest region of the country. He earned his undergraduate degree in music and theatre from Pacific Lutheran University, a esteemed institution located in Tacoma, Washington.
Notably, Louis is renowned for his creation of the iconic role of Doctor Madden in the original Broadway production of the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning musical, Next to Normal. His impressive Broadway credits extend to include Ted Hinton in Frank Wildhorn's Bonnie & Clyde, Dr. Goldberg in The People in the Picture, a production presented by the Roundabout Theatre Company, and most recently, he covered the role of Raul Esparza in the 2012 Tony-nominated Best Musical, Leap of Faith.
Louis has been featured in a recent profile published in The New York Times, highlighting his versatile career in the entertainment industry. He currently divides his time between New York City, Los Angeles, and Seattle, where he has been appointed as the Artistic Director of the award-winning Balagan Theatre.
