Biography

Person Biography:

Lourdes Reynolds, also known as Lourdes Colon, is a talented actress and filmmaker born in Puerto Rico and raised in Waukegan, Illinois. She is the daughter of a stay-at-home mom and an American Motors mechanic father, and has one brother and three sisters.

Growing up, Lourdes was a natural performer, often improvising comedy skits for her family and neighbors in her living room. She attended North School Elementary and Clearview School in Waukegan, Illinois, before moving to Jack Benny Junior High School and later Waukegan West High School.

After graduating, Lourdes enrolled at College of Lake County in Grayslake, where she developed a passion for Shakespeare. At age 18, she got her first car, a Camaro, and took her younger sister and friend to Chicago, where they got lost and Lourdes was left alone with a gang member.

Lourdes returned to Waukegan, upset and without a place to live, and eventually reconnected with an actor friend who introduced her to his agent. She booked national commercials and landed her first independent film, Time Served, with Academy Award-winning actress Louise Fletcher.

Lourdes' big break came when she auditioned for a CBS diversity showcase and landed the role of Anna Rodriguez on the hit TV series Without a Trace. She was also given an exclusive holding deal with CBS, a rare occurrence at the time.

In 2013, Lourdes was awarded the Latina of Influence Award by Hispanic Lifestyle. Her television credits include Without a Trace, The District, and The Women of Brewster Place, among others.

Lourdes has also worked in film, including Create Option C, My Journey with Cancer, and The Killer Within. Her award-winning documentary, My Journey with Cancer, chronicles her personal battle with cancer and her journey to defeat it.

Lourdes' future goals include working with acclaimed directors such as Steven Spielberg, Steve McQueen, and Alejandro Gonzalez. In her free time, she enjoys roller skating, a sport she has been practicing since the age of 5. She is married to director Chris Lavoy and has two daughters.
