Luciano Saber, a first-generation immigrant, has made a name for himself as a multifaceted actor and creative force in the entertainment industry.
With years of experience performing in the Chicago theater district, Luciano honed his skills as a storyteller, reading hundreds of scripts and developing a passion for writing that initially led him to pursue a career in journalism.
Breaking into television as an on-camera reporter, Luciano continued to evolve as an executive producer and director of multi-camera live shows and talk shows.
His foray into long-form storytelling resulted in the award-winning feature film "Placebo Effect," which won accolades for Best Original Screenplay, Best Feature, and Best Cinematography.
Luciano also wrote and directed "Scared," shot at Sony Pictures Studios, and has directed several other feature films released by Showtime, working alongside renowned film and television stars.
Veteran actors who have worked with Luciano describe him as a generous director who listens and allows scenes to evolve, a true collaborator who is organized and keeps productions moving fluidly.
Luciano's sensitivity to directing drama stems from his childhood experiences living in a refugee camp, while his sense of action and adventure is informed by his time in the U.S. Air Force, where he received military training that serves him well in handling production politics with respect, professionalism, and grace.
In addition to his directing work, Luciano has created and produced several talk shows, sold a one-hour scripted TV pitch to Fox/Sony, and has taught screenwriting at UCLA Extension.
He is also a regular speaker at California State University Northridge, host of the WGA's "3rd & Fairfax" podcast, and a member of the DGA, WGA LatinX Committees, and a graduate of the DGA TV Director Development Program.
