Born Luis Vitalino Grandón Toledo in Concepción, Chile, a city that would forever hold a special place in his heart. In 1984, he made the bold decision to leave his homeland behind and relocate to Stockholm, Sweden, a move that would ultimately shape his future. Upon arriving in Stockholm, he enrolled in the prestigious ABF Institute, where he pursued a degree in Video Production. This marked the beginning of his journey as a filmmaker, and he soon established Toledo Productions, a production company that would go on to create a range of documentaries, primarily focused on capturing the stories of the Chilean colony living in Sweden.
As a cameraman, Luis had the opportunity to work at the Maria Norr Clinic, located in the southern part of Stockholm. However, it was his passion for filmmaking that truly drove him, and he began to work on various Chilean and international productions, eventually making his mark in the industry. Despite not being a professional actor, Luis has made appearances in several productions, and his enthusiasm for the craft is evident in his words: "For me, two minutes on the screen, make me feel like Al Pacino, I love movies."
Luis's love affair with cinema began at a young age, when his parents, Margarita and Luis, would take him to the movies to watch the classics. He has a younger brother, Ricardo, and two sisters, Alejandra and Elizabeth. In his personal life, Luis is married to journalist Alejandra Gutierrez, and they have a beautiful daughter together, Catalina Grandón Gutierrez.
Throughout his life, Luis has been inspired by the works of British author Ian Fleming and his iconic character, James Bond. He is also deeply passionate about Chilean cinematography, and his love for the country's rich cultural heritage is evident in his work.
